We’re thrilled to announce that our company has officially been certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and as an Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB). These certifications mark a significant milestone for us, and we’re excited about the new opportunities it brings.

What is a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB)?
A Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) cerification is a designation given by the SBA to businesses that are at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more women. This certification helps women entrepreneurs gain access to federal contracting opportunities, especially in industries where women have historically been underrepresented.

What is an Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB)?
The EDWOSB certification builds on the WOSB designation but also recognizes that the business is owned by women who meet specific economic criteria. This status provides even greater access to federal contracting set-asides, ensuring opportunities for businesses that might face additional financial barriers.
What does it take to earn these certifications?
To qualify as a WOSB or EDWOSB, businesses must go through a rigorous application process. The company must be able demonstrate that it is 51% or more woman-owned, with day-to-day operations and long-term decisions managed by women. For the EDWOSB certification, additional proof of economic disadvantage is required, including submitting financial documentation that meets the SBA’s criteria.
Why does having an EDWOSB certification matter?
The EDWOSB designation is part of the SBA’s initiative to level the playing field for women entrepreneurs in industries where they have been historically underrepresented. It’s designed to provide greater access to federal contracts and partnerships, which can help drive growth and success for businesses like ours.
This certification not only reflects our commitment to excellence but also positions us to access federal contracting opportunities, which specifically set aside money to work with small businesses like ours, as well as subcontracting opportunities with federal prime contractors.
